Artists’ Talks – Jonny Bark and Emma Lambert

To get the students thinking about the next few weeks of their assignment we had not one but two artist talks today:

Level 3 BA Photography student, Jonny Bark, who has recently returned from an Erasmus year in Karlstad Sweden spoke to the CCI learners about his current body of work #ExploringEdgelands and how it speaks about Coventry. In addition to speaking about his work, Jonny discussed at length, his working process, the development of ideas and the importance of context in reference to his body of work. To get an insight into the work take a look at the video below:

Emma Lambert, Assistant Lecturer on BA Photography discussed her practice, specifically a long term photographic project #Evergreen (working title) in the context of Lure of the Local. Emma discussed a number of intersecting micro narratives to the body of  work that circle around a specific village asking questions of about community, home and the ‘Local’.
